Sorry I didn't post yesterday. It was a rough day. I never stopped and I have an ear infection. First I had class from 8-12. Then I had Path lab from 1-3. Then I had my first Clinical Skills lab. It was pretty basic. We just learned how to take vital signs. Easy enough. I need some practice on taking blood pressure. It's hard to hear the pulse of the arm in the stethoscope. I had a lot of fun. I asked our clinical tutor to look in my ear, just to see if I did have an infection. Of course I do and I have to go to the clinic. (Because I have so much time for that) I plan on going this afternoon. After lab was over, I had an honors society meeting. The event that I am in charge of for the Honors Society is this Saturday. We have a health fair in town for the local people. I have a little booth simply on education. We'll pass out flyers on diabetes, hypertension, and answer any questions the patients have for us. These health fairs draw quite the crowd since medical services are so limited on the island. HOWEVER, no one signed up to help me out. I'm going to send out an e-mail and hopefully I will get some volunteers. If not, I don't know what I'm going to do. After our meeting was over I had to go home. I didn't feel well at all. I ate some dinner, prepared for Path lab and then decided to go to bed. I was asleep before 10 and I could barely get up this morning at 7. As soon as I can get some ear drops I will be fine. I definitely don't want to get behind especially since this is the beginning of this section. Sorry for all my whining. I will feel better soon!
