My rant...

The World Cup (soccer) is currently in progress which to us Americans is no big deal. However, in any other country in the world the World Cup is the biggest sporting event ever. This holds true in Grenada as well. Every single game is televised on the Grenadian channel, and our lecture halls are where to catch all the action on the big screen. They use the projectors and project the games on the screens. It is crazy! I love the spirit! The cutest thing is all the people from Trinidad and Tobago. They are in their first ever World Cup and all of the Trinis watch the game in their red and black and wave their flags. It is great to see that kind of pride in their country. Now on to my rant. Currently the US is playing the Czech Republic. I wanted to check the score and as I was about to walk in the lecture hall everyone inside started screaming. My thought was yes we scored! However, that was not the case. The Czechs had just scored! I see my friend Jack wearing a Czech soccer jersey!!!! How can you not pull for the US?!? I know this is dumb, but I'm so aggrevated that we would pull against ourselves. Nice patriotism on our part. And now back to the studying...
