Weekends go too fast
Jenn's birthday celebration continued yesterday. We decided to drive up the coast of the island to this little restaurant called The Cove. It took us about 45 minutes to get there. The drive was torturous! It's the same road momma, MiMi and I took on our tour of the island. We drove through town and then along the western coast of the island. It was a beautiful little drive, but the roads are terrible. Of course with five girls in the car we got the giggles about the drive. This little British woman owns and runs the place. She was so sweet. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves which made the night even more fun. After stuffing ourselves with really good food and they made Jenn a birthday cake we went home to watch the Olympics. I don't think it can get much better than that. This morning I had to make myself presentable for meeting the clinicians. A clinician is a person who teaches you in the clinical years (3rd and 4th year of medical school). Over 200 clinicians are in Grenada to meet all of us. They come once a year, but they didn't come in 2005 due to Hurricane Ivan. I was standing there talking to some of my girlfriends and this cute old British man came up. We all introduced ourselves, and then he just grabbed me by the hand. He then proceeded to tell me that I must do a rotation in the UK and how fabulous it is. I was seriously convinced. I talked to several others from the New York area, and then I didn't want to go to the UK anymore. HAHA! They all just have me so excited to start my 3rd year. I better not jump the gun considering I'm only a month into my 2nd year. They all asked us where we wanted to eventually practice. My response of New Orleans always drew questions about Katrina. I'm really sick of talking about it, but it was also nice that they asked. Well I have to begin studying. My final 3rd term test is on Friday and I have TONS to do. Talk to you later.
