Saws, fat and gluteus maximus
It's Tuesday which means that I had Anatomy lab this morning. You never know what to expect on these days except for the fact it will smell when you walk in and you will smell when you walk out. Today we dissected the gluteal region and the posterior thigh. My group is assigned to the right side of the body, and this was the leg that was still in tact. Well that is no longer the case. First thing we did was saw off the leg!! We didn't actually get to do it sadly. The lab assistant Mr. Belgrave just came to your table, you flipped the body to its side, and he sawed off the leg! My lab partners always find it amusing to watch my face when stuff like this happens. I just sit there and laugh through it. I think you just have to have a sense of humor through all of this stuff. If not then you actually stop and think what you are doing, and that is never a good plan. One of the guys at the table next to us had to leave the room when it was their turn, but their person is much bigger than poor little Eve. The rest of the lab time we had to clean off the fat to find good ole gluteus maximus. You have a lot of padding on your bottom and I had to remove all of that. All I can say is, I'm so glad I didn't eat breakfast. We were complemented for a job well done today which is always a good feeling. I had class this afternoon as usual. I can't believe I only have about 4 weeks of class left and then finals start. That is a scary thought, except for the fact that it means home is that much closer. That is all for now. I have tons to do (I have to learn all the muscles of the leg and foot which seems like a million). Talk to you soon!
