Trained clinician

HAHA! Not really. So this morning I had my first "patient." It was one of those people that they pay to act out different symptoms for medical students. Our lady was good! She walked in the room, and she had this worried look on her face. There are 9 of us in my group, and I went last which was probably the worst time to go. I was just so scared so I wouldn't volunteer myself. I don't think I've been that scared in a long time. However, being last, all of the good questions to ask the woman were taken so it just looked like I was repeating everyone else's. We simply did patient history today. There was no diagnosis simply because we aren't advanced enough in our studies. She was acting as if she had gall stones, just to let you know. Thank you, MiMi for having a gallbladder attack that one day I was over at your house. I knew exactly what was going on. =) Oh well. It could have been much worse. One of my friends had a "patient" who had gonarrhea! I think I might have died! For the first time around, I don't think I would have done well at all with that one!
This afternoon in class we started the head and neck series in Anatomy. We will be doing this from now until the end of the semester. Tuesday we begin these dissections. You know what that means? Eve's face will be seen for the first time!! In all the time I've been in the lab I haven't ever thought about what she looks like, but I will find out Tuesday. It's going to be a big day! Then in Biochem we learned all about how Atkins diet is so bad for you. They didn't say anything about South Beach, but just to let you know Low Carb diet = very bad! Well that is about all. I've written a bunch simply because I do not feel like studying tonight. I really need to, but it's Friday night and I'm tired. It's not a good combination. Alright, let me try to study some. Talk to you later!

Well my galbladder is gone now and I guess it was green just like Eve's. It will be interesting to see your Dad's remarks after this one. I am having a cataract removed this week so maybe Eve's were also removed . Ike's having his removed this week also. Looking forward to the end of your first semester and having you back home for the summer. All my love, Mimi
