Happy Birthday, Daddy! Or should I call you "The Paragon" since that is what you are referring to yourself as these days? Hope you had a great day, and I wish I could have been there to celebrate.
Things here are going pretty well. I am currently sitting in the library doing some Physiology. Not too exciting. Last night was my first cooking experience in Grenada. I made jambalaya (yay for being able to buy Zatarain's jambalaya mix in Grenada!), and no one would try any. Oh well. More leftovers for me!! It's so nice being able to cook, and it makes life so much easier. We had the usual three classes this morning. I have decided that I don't like Physio. Nothing about it excites me, and yet it is one of the most important classes I will take. I went to lunch at this new little place here on campus near the vet school called the Sugar Shack. It was really good. That is the first time I have eaten on campus since my return. I just can't make myself do it. Other than that nothing else has been going on. I have posted a few more pictures, and I hope you enjoy them. More to come, I promise! And now it's back to Physio...

Dear Melissa, About an hour ago I opened and read your selected birthday card. The words were customized. Yes, I have always believed in you. Yes, likewise you have never failed believing in yourself, And, Yes I love you deeply! Today I especially needed the comfort of your words, the assurance of your voice and the inner message contained within. Today Stewart drove me to Lake Charles to visit Mama. On the way we visited Uncle Brian at the cemetery. To my great surprise and delight the grave site and marker were well maintained. To my amazement the silk flowers that I had previously placed in his vase were present; awell maintained potted plant along with fresh flowers were there to greet me as well. Instead of feeling sad for him I was elated that he had a wonderful birthday rememberance. I placed my fresh cut flowers on the marker, they werepurple. Oh,what beauty now glorified his resting place. Melissa, there is an angel someplace close by! Later w stopped and purchased two pounds of fresh hot cracklings. While "pigging out" on the cracklings I called Brady Fitzsimmons at East Jefferson Hospital. Brady had CABG on Monday. He is doing well, but I did not tell him that I was eating cracklings. He is so much like your grandmother that after correcting my grammar he would have lectured me on the disadvantqges of eating cracklings. We stopped in Crowley at the John Deere dealership, I am shopping for another tractor for Paloma. How musical were the voices of Southwest Louisiana, Broussard, Istre, Savoie, Fachan and Zaunbrecker. On to Lake Charles. Your grandmother was dressed in a light blue pant suit. She had earringsand a modest necklace as additional adornment. She looked beautiful! Her caretaker sees to her wardrobe and what a wonderful job she does. Her name is Linda. She is the angel of Lake Charles. Ike is now getting up in the morning and getting dressed. Linda has issued a warning to him that he is not going to lay around the house in his bathrobe: that if she catches him in his bathrobe during the daytime she is going to dress him too! Ike, PawPaw to you, is getting his clothes on, and, fast, for Him. Your grandmother did not feel wellenough to go outside of the house for lunch. we ordered barbecue. I had brisket, stewart had beef, Linda had pulled pork and PawPaw chicken{you don'tbelieve that?]. I thought I'd mention the Southwest Louisiana barbecue as I recall you do not like the taste. I would not want to taunt you about food. The trip back was uneventful.

For dinner I met your mother and the Blalocks at Palmetto's.
