To all of you in Katrina.
I know most of my readers are from the Slidell area so I just want everyone to know that I am thinking about them in this difficult time. It looked like an awful storm. I had my final this morning. I still need to check my grade, but I'm pretty sure I got a B. The man's test was pretty bad simply because of the way he words his questions. Plus, I am a little worried about what's going on back home. If you hear anything or talk to my folks (phone lines are down last time I tried) please comment on this site. I would really appreciate it. Ok, I gotta run. I'm praying for everyone and hoping all is well.

We heard from your Dad this morning at 8:45 AM. He & Baxter were holding down the fort there at the home. Stewart, your Mother, Jeannie, & your Grandmother left Slidell late Sunday night & drove to Ann & Mike's home in BR & are there now. When your Dad called us this morning, he & B were OK. Some trees had blown down in the yard, but nothing had touched the house. Electricity failed about 6 AM Monday morning, but landlines & cellphones were working. A lot of wind & some rain. We've tried several times this evening to get a call through to your Dad, but all circuits are overloaded & no calls, landline or cell, can get through. We had a call from your Mother on her cellphone at 9:30 PM Monday night. They are all OK in BR, rain but no electricity. Your Mother had been trying to get a call through to your Dad, but circuits are jammed.

Melissa- Keep me updated on Slidell. My mom tried calling your parents Sunday but we didn't get a hold of them. Let us know please! Love and miss you!

We tried late last night & during the early morning hours up until now, but cannot get any phone call through to Slidell. It seems that the main communication systems in N.O. have been knocked down. Let's hope that No News Is Good News! Will keep you posted.
