Sorry for not posting yesterday...I really need internet at my house. It would make life much easier. We are looking into getting it, but we aren't sure if it will reach our house and the boys' apartment. We would rather do that so we can split the cost 6 ways. We'll see how it goes. Last night I had the biggest cooking attempt of my short career as Chef Melissa. I have just realized how little cooking I have done in my life. Then again, why would I need to cook when I have my momma to do it for me?? I decided to start big with one of my favorite meals, round steak (who knew you could buy red meat in a Grenadian grocery store!!!) and mashed potatoes. Well I was lacking a few crucial cooking utensils to begin with. I didn't have a meat pounder, a veggie peeler or a potato masher. Interesting way to start. I improvised a little. All in all I give the experience a B. The meat definitely needed to be pounded, I didn't salt my potatoes enough, and the smell permeated the entire place. I must say the gravy came out excellent, however. My roommates didn't complain too much about the smell. They said it smelled good. Note to self...small confined spaces don't do too well with pan fried meat. I am almost cured of the sickness (we like to called it the Dengue since they told Sonia she had Dengue fever and it was definitely just a cold). Doctors...what do they know?? =) HAHA! My cell phone is finally working again. The cell tower was struck by lightning 6 days ago...these Grenadians know how to solve a problem quickly. We finished up our Genetics course today, and the final is on Monday. I have some serious studying to do this weekend. After class this afternoon we went for a float in the ocean. We all have rafts now, and we just lay on them. It is quite possibly the greatest thing ever. We are definitely taking advantage of the fact that the beach is a 15 second walk from our door. Ok, let me run get some work done so I can be home in time for dinner. Talk to you soon!
