Yet another Grenadian shocker!

Just when I think that there is nothing any Grenadian can do or say to shock me, yet another event occurs that has just floored me. This time it involves Lennie, the landlord. So our new place is still not complete (surprise surprise), but we all have our own bedrooms just not together. Sonia and I live in the downstairs apartment. It has its own little living room and kitchen. The rooms upstairs are part of Lennie’s house, and that’s where the other girls are living. Yesterday I was at school from 8AM til 11PM putting in some quality study time. When I came home I walked in the door to find that our two couches and our chair were gone. Our living room now only contains a table and four chairs. Ok! Someone had come over to look at the furniture a few days ago, but I wouldn’t have thought Lennie would let them have it until we move to our place (whenever that may be…let’s not get started on that subject). I then proceed into my room where I just want to fall into my nice king size bed and go to sleep. EXCEPT when I walk in my king size bed is no longer there! They sold my bed and replaced it with a wooden box bed. I’m not even kidding. Sonia was asleep and so I called Kelly to find out what happened. She said she wasn’t really sure. She tried to ask the housekeeper, but we can’t understand what she says half the time (she’s Grenadian but the only words we understand are “de doe” (translation: the door). Apparently they just came in took the couches and my bed, and then on the spot “built” me a new one. Kelly said she watched them build it. I can’t believe that Grenadians can build something in less than a day’s time so at least I have some sort of a bed. It is seriously a wooden box!! It is HYSTERICAL. Of course I took pictures which you can see below. It really isn’t that funny. I’m paying for a fully furnished place that isn’t even finished yet, and then the landlord is selling the furniture we are currently using. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I'm not sure if anything can top this story, but I have a feeling somewhere along the road something even more ridiculous will occur. I just can't phathom what that may be.
Well today has been a relatively normal day. Class this morning and then Physio lab this afternoon. We have started doing clinical cases in Physio and they are really interesting. Tonight is our usual Thursday night television watching (just about the only time I ever watch tv). We are cooking dinner for one of our friends since it was her birthday yesterday. It should be a good time. Although we don't have anywhere for peple to sit tonight because all of our furniture is gone. Should be interesting. Ok, gotta run!
