Kids, kids and more kids

I completely forgot to post yesterday! We had a clinical skills lab on Pediatrics. Our patient was quite possibly the funniest little 4 year old I have ever met. He was such a ham! For one, he was so active. He basically ran around the room and crawled under the tables the entire time we were interviewing the mom. Then he started feeding us all chips. Too cute! Of course when it was time for us to examine he, he became "sleepy." He was quite the little actor! Then someone asked him if he was cold and remarkably his lips started quivering! I just had to laugh! It was so funny.
Today's hospital rotation just happened to be Pediatrics as well. This poor child was too sick to even wake up for us. It was so sad. She had a very bad case of meningitis. I felt so bad because I woke her up trying to take her pulse. She saw the white coat and started whimpering (she didn't even have the energy to cry). Being the bad guy is no fun!! I don't like scaring little ones. There is just no way I can do Pediatrics. It's difficult! Well I must run. I have a long night in front of me! It's getting down to serious crunch time!!
