More hospital fun

I was absolutely dreading the hospital the entire day because we had another Anesthesiology rotation. Monday afternoons are usually scheduled for Orthopedics surgeries. It was like I was doing the same thing everytime I went to the "theatre" (as they call the operating room here). Plus Anesthesiology is just plain dull. However, we lucked out once again! I just happened to study General Anesthetics yesterday since it will be on our upcoming exam. That helped a lot with the Anesthesiology aspect of the day. It was like I was reviewing for the test and I wasn't just hearing these random words that I knew nothing about! We also got to see a Gynecological procedure instead of Orthopedics! The lady was having a cervical biopsy. I was jealous of the group doing their Ob/Gyn rotation today because the doctor let them scrub in and assist in the procedure! My favorite part of the day was that our Anesthesiologist would not watch the procedure. Apparently when he was in medical school, he passed out in the middle of some procedure. It was really funny!! I wouldn't think that he would still be scared, but he definitely was!
The shocking thing about the day is that I really enjoyed it! I'm seriously leaning towards becoming an Ob/Gyn. I always said I would NEVER go into this field, but I've liked everything about it thus far. Now if I could just see a delivery...(I guess that is a decisive factor in the whole thing)!! And now it's time to hit the books!
