MUSTIQUE
Yesterday was by far one of my favorite days in the Caribbean! My friend Jenn and I decided to get away for the day and go to the island of Mustique. Mustique is one of the Grenadines and is about 18 miles from St. Vincent. Mustique is one of the most elite islands in the Caribbean with people such as Mick Jagger and Tommy Hilfiger having "vacation" homes there.
We boarded the plane yesterday morning and took the 8 minute flight to get there. That is not a typo, it was an 8 minute flight! The plane held 20 people (including the captain and co-captain) and there was no door between the seats and the cockpit so you could see out the front. See picture. I'm still not sure how I feel about that. The airport was about the cutest thing I have ever seen. It was an outdoor airport built entirely out of bamboo. To get around the island (which is 1 mile by 3 miles) you rent a Mule (the golf cart thing that my dad has). IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! The girl who rented the Mule to us told us how to find Mick's house, StarGaze. I can't believe you could even call that thing a vacation home. It was HUGE! We ate lunch at the one big resort on the island called the Cotton House.
We ate at the little beach cafe that was right on the water and just beautiful. I felt like I was a million miles away from school and yet I was so close. The food was great, my mango daquiri was even better and our waiter told us we could use the beach chairs and umbrellas to lay out! Jenn and I both fell asleep on the beach. We woke up to Clive the waiter bringing us a pitcher of ice water. Too bad I will never be able to afford spending the night on the island (cheapest room is $700 a night!) because I could really get used to the pampered life. We hopped back on our mule when I started to sunburn to go to the little shops. Sadly they were closed so we didn't get to take back any souvenirs. Sadly the day had to come to an end so we returned the Mule
and hopped on the flight back to St. Vincent. I rushed home, showered and changed then went to the boys' house for taco night and LSU football. The day could not have been any better!

(That's me waving goodbye in the Mule!) I miss Mustique already!

I am so glad that you are enjoying some more islands while you are there. That one seemed like so much fun. Can't wait for your return home. Love you Mimi
