TGIF

Yay for Friday!!! Not only because the weekend is here but also because I had anatomy lab this morning. It is my only 8AM class, and it was rough to get up. Nothing like a whiff of formaldehyde to get you going in the morning. I learned one important thing in Anatomy lab today. It's best to keep your mouth shut, unless the professor asks you something. One of my lab partners said something incredibly stupid and it was all downhill from there for her. She got asked all the questions as to what was what and where things were located. He was doing it in a half joking manner, but still she was put on the spot. You could tell she was so scared. We performed a laminectomy today which means we removed part of the vertebrae to expose the spinal cord. I told my group up front that I wanted to do a good portion of this. Dr. Curry came over to give us a quick tutorial as to how to do this, and it was really crazy. You took this huge mallet to break the bone. Dr. Curry started laughing at me at me because the entire time I was doing it I had this huge smile on my face. He said, "Look at the grin on that face. I'm staying away from you while you are holding that mallet!" When we finally got down to the spinal cord it was the coolest thing. It's amazing to think that this tiny cord is responsible for a lot of our actions. One of my lab partners actually took pictures which I thought was hysterical. I promise not to post those on here! Sorry if I'm boring you with all of this, but it's the highlight of my day! Well it is time for lecture to begin, so I am going to go. Four hours of lecture and then the weekend is here. We are celebrating yet another birthday tonight, and the school is having a party at The Aquarium. Then tomorrow I'll be back in the library hitting the books! Thanks for reading this so often! I now have a counter, and I can't believe that I've had almost 40 visitors in 2 days! WOW!
