E.R.
Today was my first rotation in the ER or as they called it here A&E (accidents and emergencies). I wasn't sure what to expect going into this one. It's a complete toss up when it comes to the emergency room as to what type of patient you will be seeing. The best part of the day is that the ER is air conditioned! What a life saver! We saw a lady who was pregnant and suffering from pregnancy related hypertension. This is a very dangerous thing and it is known as pre-eclampsia. The funny thing was that we had NO CLUE what we were doing and where to go. The doctor told us brief physical exam but we didn't know where to begin and whether we were supposed to check the baby. The lady was just the sweetest person ever and was so patient with us. We did not look very bright. The doctor was great. I learned so much once the exam was done and we had to discuss everything with him.
In other news they came to hook up our cable tv yesterday. I was so excited, but this quickly turned to anger. The cable guy told us that cable could not be hooked up in my apartment only Brittany and Kelly's (the one adjoining mine). He stayed all of five minutes to flip a switch, hooked up cable on the tv in their living area and then left. I soon found out that this was due to pure laziness. I have hooked up cable in every room in both apartments. It was quite possibly the easiest thing ever, it just took time to figure out which cables ran where. If I did it, then you know it was easy. I'm thinking of calling and getting my money back for the whole "installation" considering I was the one who installed it. Things like that DRIVE ME UP THE WALL! Fun thing is that we have turned the spare bedroom into a "media room." Since all the bedrooms have AC and the main living areas do not it works out perfectly. We're going to throw a couch in there and do some rearranging. It's going to be great! Ok, I must run cook some dinner and then begin studying. Tons to do.
