Anesthesiology? No, thank you!
Today I played the role of an anesthesiologist. I think I would have rathered take a 2 hour nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I didn't like it. It's basically all Pharmacology and really doesn't interest me. Too little patient contact for the likes of me. Our doctor even told us that is why he went into the field...he had minimal patient contact. You are just putting people to sleep and waking them back up. Granted, it's a tough job getting those meds just right, and someone needs to do it. That someone is just not Melissa K. Jones. The surgery was interesting but I didn't get to see too much of it because we were talking to the Anesthesiologist almost the entire time. It was another Orthopedics surgery repairing a fracture in the arm. They were putting screws in to hold the bone in place. We have a surgical rotation next week so hopefully we will see some other type of surgery then. I've now seen three Orthopedic surgeries and I'm ready to move onto something different. Not much else is going on here. I am gearing up for exams which start in two weeks. There needs to be some serious studying from now until then. I can't believe how much info is going to be on these exams!! Well I'm going to run to bed now. Hospital days are always so long and they exhaust me.

Mrs. Judy, hope all goes well tomorrow. I will be thinking about you.

Melissa, I just talked to Mr. Darrell and Miss Judy's surgery was a success and she is doing fine. Keep studying. We love you and miss you. Mom
