Catching you up

For some reason I have not been able to log into my blog account for the past couple of days. Let me quickly catch you up to speed. Monday was my Pathophysiology test. It was not a fun test. However, there was a massive curve which I was very pleased about. I love it when the whole class does poorly on an exam!! After the test, I had to run home, change and go to the hospital. We had our Ob/Gyn rotation, but sadly I didn't get to see a delivery. It was probably for the best because I was absolutely exhausted. Our patient was a sweet sweet little girl, 9 months pregnant and none too pleased about having the child. Heartbreaking. Monday night we had a party that turned out to be a lot of fun. I randomly planned a party two weeks ago. Then I ran into the owner of the place in the grocery store. I almost had a heart attack when this local walks up to me in the grocery and says, "Melissa?!" It took me a second to realize who he was. HA!! So he printed up a flyer for the party and sent it to me. It was possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen. It said, "Want to relax the mind after those exams? Come party with Melissa and friends for a night you will never forget!" My friend Praz decided it was just like a sweet sixteen invite so the party became known as "Melissa's Sweet Sixteen." That was a total side note, but anyways there were a ton of people and it was nice just to hang out with everyone again. We don't do that as much here. Everyone just basically sticks to their core group of friends so it was nice to get out and socialize with people I hadn't talked to in a while.
Tuesday it was back to the old grind. We have a relatively light week with Surgery and Radiology lectures. I'm finally learning all about how to read these films that I've been looking at for the past 7 years at my job at the hospital at home. They make so much sense!!
Today we had lecture and then Clinical Skills lab. This week's lab was based on the GI. We had the nicest little man. He had a terrible hernia. EEW! For some reason hernias gross me out. After lab we were able to review our exams which was nice. I was glad to know what I got wrong. Then after that I had an exec meeting for IEA. It has been a jam packed day and I'm not slowing down yet. We are about to head over to our friends' place for dinner. I'm exhausted, but I know dinner will be fun. Gotta run!!
