My day as a Urologist
Yet another very interesting hospital rotation, but definitely not a specialty I see myself going into in the years to come. This afternoon we went to the Urologist's office. For one, this was completely different from the hospital setting. It was nice to see a patient in an office. I can't wait to have an office! HAHA! After we took the history and reported everything to the doctor it was time for the man to have his prostate biopsy. He was a really good patient. That's all I'll say about that. Prostate biopsies are in no shape or form pleasant. I felt really bad for him since my entire group is girls. The doctor was fantastic and very challenging. He kept telling us, "I don't want any fainters!" Then he told the patient that we were going to view the procedure and hopefully none of us "dropped" (that's what they call fainting here which I think is hysterical). So when everything was said and done the patient turned over and looked at all of us and said "Any fainters?" It was really funny. Thus far, he was my favorite doctor. That's about all that's been going on here. This weekend looks to be quite boring. My friends are going off to another island, but it would have cost me a small fortune. I am just going to be hanging out with the few people who will still be around and take it easy. It should be relaxing. I don't have much in the way of school so I plan on resting the brain.
